Once upon a time, I thought that doing this entrepreneur thing was kinda like a solopreneur duty. You did it by yourself because you didn't want people stealing your ideas, or taking credit for your success. You actively hid yourself from the world because you were "too busy" or "too swamped" to go out and enjoy a coffee.
And then... a cowboy rode in on a steed and swept me off my feet.
Okay, okay, so it was collaboration that rode in on a rainbow and told me I didn't have to do this alone. I started actively hunting down websites and communities that focused on collaboration over competition.
I had no idea how big of a turn my business would take (FOR THE BETTER) because I started accepting the love and support of other entrepreneurs. (Shout out to Magic Mavens! You girls are my tribe.)
Because I went through all that crazy hunting and alone time while I tried to find sites that really help me truly and genuinely connect with other women in my same stage and walk of entrepreneurship, I wanted to pile three amazing websites into this blog post so you can have access to them whenever you need them.
1. Flock & Co.
This one is a no-brainer. Flock & Co. has single-handedly helped me arrange SIX collaborations and get inspired for more! Part of what I love about Flock & Co. is that it's sectioned off into the different types of collaborations. Not only that - they host collaborations and events themselves, too! It isn't only the members who get involved. I love that about F&C.
Squads is an off-shoot of Vendeve, which, if you'd never been on it, is a forum for female entrepreneurs looking to collaborate and connect. It's forum based, which means you can find topics easier and things don't get lost in chat. I prefer it to Facebook groups and such. Squads was developed because the founders of Vendeve found that smaller, more intimate "lightning focus" groups were able to hammer out more problems in bi-weekly calls than as a large group. My group in Squads is numbered at four, and we meet every other week. There's a little bit of an agenda for each call, but there's plenty of wiggle room if you need to bring up other things during your mastermind.
The ladies in Squads have helped me identify the problems with my ideas, and have helped me hammer down solutions that stick and THAT is more valuable to me than just about anything, especially in this stage.
There is also a chat area and a forum-based website.
3. Haute Chocolate Styled Stock
The third is NOT a collaborative site, but instead, a stock photography site. It houses some of the classiest and most inexpensive photos I've ever encountered! It took me FAR too long to purchase a membership to it, but I finally did and that's where all the amazing photography on my blog comes from. I couldn't live without it, now that I'm a member! There must be 20 stock photo packs in the dashboard right now, in addition to graphics packs! I'm blown away by it. I'm not even an affiliate and I'm promoting it! haha
